The Lod Foundation attributes great importance to promoting the arts in general, and music in particular.

Music connects people to culture and has a broad impact on everyone who comes in contact with it. 

 

With the help of the generous contribution of IBI, we have established a multicultural music room at Matnas Chicago.

The music center operates under the instruction of Nizar El-Khater, an outstanding pianist and Lod resident, who oversees the children and the teachers in the wonderful, musical world. 

 

 The children learn about authentic instruments (darbuka, oud, kanoun, and many others), by direct experience, playing and even perform in front of audiences. The music room offers students a warm and inclusive home, and gives them a way to express themselves and to connect to their roots.
